It has been a long journey… We’ve been looking for a house for many years now, always knowing that we have this deep love with old, characterful, story-telling houses, grown gardens and surroundings. But finally you can call us Mister and Misses Houseowner! ;)
The house is a typical “Siedlungshaus”, where many of them were built in the years between 1930 und 1960. Ours is the middle one of three almost identical houses, which were built for the managers of a big oil extraction company in 1948.
It has many lovely details, like shutters, two round windows (I love them!), a fantastic wooden staircase and a swinging door in the inside and a really big garden!
We hope that it will take us no longer than two years with the renovation. My talented sister will help us with the planning. She is an interior designer and together with her boyfriend she almost finished the renovation of their amazing town house!
